Fuel pick-up

Hello all.... Was wondering if any P36-2 or other similar vintage Pearsons (assuming tanks are similar) owners have opened the fuel tank and pulled the fuel pick-up tube to inspect. Doing that this weekend and just looking for any heads up or advise of tools / parts / chemicals etc... to have handy and what I might want to do once in there.

Greg,

Removing the pickup line is strightforward. Just disconnect it and remove it. Once out, other than checking to see that the tube is clean, there is nothing else you can do.

Years ago I cleaned half of the tank by removing the gage and using a wood batten with a cloth tied to the end, cleaned the bottom and sides. There is a baffel in the tank that keeps you from seeing the tank condition where the pickup tube is.

Will be pulling the tube this weekend.... think my tank is pretty clean as my Raccor bowl has minimal sediment and filters always come out looking farely clean. Will do this after I change my fuel pump lift.
