Hello Everyone, I have a 1983 Catalina 30 with a Universal M25 engine, can anyone tell me for SURE what the fuel filter should be. Do any of you have any NAPA type cross reference numbers. I also bought a Algae-x in line fuel condictioner at the boat show today, any comments? Thanks Jack

Filter sizes

Hello Jack: I have a M25XP in my 96 30 and I find that Carquest 86390 fuel filter fits, and Fram PH3593A for the oil filter. If your boat is not so equipped, I would add a Racor 220 fuel filter between the tank and the electric fuel pump. As far as your Alge-X is concerned, I would return it to the vendor if possible. I could be wrong, but I believe that "system" did not do well in independant tests. The Racor I suggested is now installed by the Catalina factory and is a proven performer. Others that will work

I have Universal M-25XP and there are other filters that will work. I find that the ones from Kubota tractor work great and are the lowest cost. The oil filter is #70000-15241 and the fuel filter is #70000-43081. Also, a NAPA #3390 fuel filter works. If you buy the Kubota filters for both, you can get a single filter wrench that fits both. The NAPA filter is a slightly different size. Fair winds!!
