Please help! I have a hunter 45CC with a Yanmar 4JH4TX2 engine. The fuel filter on the engine has a cover which I cannot remove - the manual is not specific about that.
Thanks so much! V

Do you have any pictures? There may not be a whole lot of 45CC or 4JH4TX2 skippers here, but others may be able to help.

The fuel filter on our 4JH2-TE (1991) is a spin on canister filter like the oil filter. Our current one is ten micron that was installed by the PO. I have a spare spin on that is six micron. We also have a ten micron Racor cartridge filter between the fuel tank and the engine.

Viktor,
I have the same boat, 2006 Hunter 45 CC, and the same Yanmar Engine, 4JH4TX2, I believe that the bottom portion of the filter spins off and inside is the fuel filter element, that you replace The top portion of the filter housing is the manual fuel pump for priming, (filling) the filter prior to starting the engine.

Viktor,
Now that I think about it, the bottom portion of this filter assembly screws off, like a typical filter cartridge would. The replacement fuel filter element just screws back on, typical to changing the engine oil filter. The "button" on the top of the assembly is used to manually pump fuel into the new filter/cartridge prior to starting the engine.
