I know I am need of a rebuild on the head, it's been many years but it is still working. I have seen many posts about having fresh and raw water both hooked to the head so if I need to fix mine I will do it at the same time. My question is this, When sailing/motoring I have both thru hulls shut off, {raw water and overboard pump}. When I need water to flush I turn on the bathroom sink, the water flows from the faucet, down the sink drain and into the head giving me water to flush with. Is there anything wrong with this set up? Except for wasting alittle fresh water. It works fine and is sooo much easier than going forward twice, lifting cushions and turning the valve. 2nd Question, If the heads were to have siphon valves {as in their directions}, why didn't the boat manufactures do it right and install them when they were building the boat? I know "it's about the money" but a siphon valve is cheap. as always, thanks, Jack
