I've created four illustrated checklists to help with winterizing and laying-up the complete diesel system - engine, fuel, lubrication, cooling, electrical, breathing and drive train.

Copies are also available free, no email required, on the website http://www.marinedieselbasics.com/ex...es/task-lists/

No. It's an annual event ever since the early 1800s, some seasons worse than others. Even this year, it was only bad for a month or so and most days we didn't notice it. It was too hot to spend time at the marina then. Never did see any impact except in isolated areas which the news media used to depict exaggerated effects.

You East coasters have your RedTide.
Out here in the Pacific NW, West Coast waters now have a hypoxia season.

It was by far worse than normal. 5 miles from sarasota bay still smelled putid. It was a filthy poisonous dumpster smell. It was nasty hot so the the boat was in the garage. I hadnt gone out since may. Been out since october at the beginning of month bay was rusty brown with about 1 foot of visibility. Just a week ago the bay was clearing up to about 2 feet of visibility with no red tide effects.
