Some of you may remember last week's thread on a fraudulent listing on eBay. I reported it to eBay, as I believe others did also, and received the following email from eBay's Trust and Safety dept.:Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the suspicious listing of membergeorge_2183 for a 2005 Catalina 310 Sailboat , Yacht , 31 feet (item number 330130960459). The items recently listed with george_2183's account were the result of an unauthorized account takeover. We were not aware of this activity until after the listings appeared on the site. As soon as we became aware that an unauthorized person took over this account, we reacted immediately to resolve the problem. We are currentlyin the process of restoring the account to its true owner. We appreciate your effort for reporting us this rare incident of accounttakeover. Your efforts makes the whole eBay community a safer place to trade. If you receive an email offering to complete this sale, we strongly encourage you not to accept the offer. Such a purchase would take place outside of the eBay site, so it would not be eligible for eBay services, including dispute resolution, Feedback, requests for contact information, and PayPal buyer protection services.
