H31 Forestay
Margaritaville,I don't know if you have measured your forstay yet,but I will be measuring mine within the next coupleof days. You have to replace your forestay because ofage and, depending on which furler youget, you would have to cut the bottom terminal off to get the furler on anyway. I have a Harken Unit that works great after 23 years on the boat, but it hasa couple of kinks in the upper extrusions due to damage during moving (previous owner didn't disclosethis to me and I didn't catch it until I tried to pull the jib down) I'm going to have to take the forestaydown and cut off the bottom terminal, so I'm replacingthe forestay along with the extrusions and connectors withan up-grade kit. Let us know if you still need that forestay measurement and what furling unit you areplanning on going with. I talked to a Tom at RiggingOnly that was very helpful about my problem. I think I will have them make up a new headstay, I haven't foundout about price yet. Let me know if you have any priceson headstays etc... Thanks !
