I have had to replace the lower section of bulkheads both forward and aft in the main cabin. I have also removed the motor and have to decide on whether to install a battery system or just an outboard. But that is another topic.
The question that I have is the aft bulkhead where it attaches to the deck, there was a bulkhead and now that I had to replace it. I like the openness of the missing bulkhead.
My thoughts were to install two 3” compression posts as the bulkhead was there for compression. I was wondering if there is shear there also and would need to install cross bracing.
I could wait until after I sailing it and check it with a string fore to aft and see how much the thing falls off but I would rather be proactive and not have to fix this later as I want to come out racing and stay.
What does everyone think?
