Fellow Sailors. Everyone on this forum is extremely helpful in sharing their wisdom and experience. I am getting ready to install a new chartplotter on my CAT 270. I want to flush mount a Standard Horizon CP190i chartplotter in a plastic NAV POD at the top of my helm. The manufacturer states an external antenna "may" be needed if this device is flush mounted. I am thinking since the case is plastic and at most there will only be a bimini between the case and the sky this may not be a problem. Does anyone have a similar setup? If so what, if any issues did you encounter? As always all wisdom welcome and appreciated.
Thanks!
