Get @Will Gilmore to put some Art on a Marine Grade Plywood floor and coat it with Mothane.
3000 yrs from now some archeologist will dig it up to display in a museum.
Unless the art was kept outdoors. There is no mention of UV protection in the description. Otherwise, it looks like awesome stuff.

UV protection
I was introduced to this stuff, that was used to coat a wooden hulled boat, that was 40 yrs old. I was commenting about Mothane to my Commercial Flooring Installer.

He laughed at me and said Mothane what we coat Brick Flooring with. He had pictures of a open Mall that was high traffic and exposed to the elements. Not a scratch.

I installed an "Old Chicago" used brick floor. Real used brick I had cut into tiles. We used Mothane. Problem was this...
1) House had to be basically sealed and clean
2) AC unit working.
3) No one allowed to enter except the Mothane coating person
4) Two coats
5) 8 days from start to finish.

Cute story: Owners were admiring the laid raw brick tile and last chance to change any part. Wife started crying and sobbing. What happened? She pointed to a cigarette butt than had been foot extinguished on her new [Old used] brick floor. Quickly thinking... "Do you want us to Mothane over the cig butt?". She looked up half shocked to see me grinning. "NOoooooo!". "Well we sweep, mop, and hand clean the entire floor and walls, first!"
If any dust or bugs hit the Mothane, during the cure, it will be "fossilized". She was all smiles on the finished product. Time passes... House flooded from Hurricane Katrina. Guess what survived? Brick floor was perfect.

JamesG161 while I would love to have Will travel cross country on a patron sponsored project to provide an inspired work of art. I am confused by the terms bantered about in the descriptions of this one time painted for ever mobile product. Specifically the word “solids”. In my limited experience with Will’s work he burns artistic images that radiate beauty. It would seem they need transparency to be enjoyed. “Solids “ imply opaqueness to my ears. Help me Obiwan to understand this conundrum.

The clear base is Clear. Solids in the painting world means, doesn't "evaporate". Remember the World was worried about Organics evaporating into our atmosphere.
The key is VOC which is the non-solids.
Since it is use for Marine Structures, it should be UV resistant. It is a
catalyzed product. Not standard urethane varnish.

I thought Varithane was a varnish.
and, I'm sure your floors are great Les, not tragic at all.

I think of varnish as a resin dissolved in a thinning agent with some dryers. Lacquer or shellac. Verithane is a poly-urithane

Well at least I went from "Bubba" to a Sci-Fi character.:cowbell:

We think transparent GLASS is a solid, but it is a super cooled liquid.:p

There are other competitive products to Mothane® , but this was in my experience world. The key is "catalyzed" Acrylic Enamel. Imron® is another type.

Well the ADMIRAL is ready to SAIL!!!!!!
We went out for a 4 hour sail, but with water temperature still 70° and wind 10 knots, it was a bit chilly.
So we put on a jacket and cleaned the winter algae off the bottom at 6.5 knots SOG.
SueNappingOnHeel.jpg
I had to laugh at the Admiral napping on a 15° heel, staying warmer in the sunshine [not true 2 years ago:yikes:]. I didn't have the camera ready when she was napping on the shaded Port side and we suddenly got a gust and began to heel. Like is was an automatic move, she stuck out her right leg to brace against the Pedestal, without opening an eye. Talk about confidence in our boat.;)

ALittleheel.jpg
1 foot seas and a few sailors out.

Asking what I wanted for lunch beside . Not PB&J, but Ham and Swiss please.

One way to check sea state with my Sonar.;)

Back to the boat now, 98% good on Spring Shake down sail.

Like it when the Lady becomes comfortable on the boat.

It is so nice to feel the boat surge beneath your feet.
