Flexible Shaft Coupling

Am seriously thinking about installing a R&D Flexible Shaft Coupling on the MD25 engine of my 1984 Catalina 30 to try to eliminate engine vibration at approx. 1100-2000 rpm (if my tach is accurate). New shaft bearing and PSS shaft seal have been installed and engine mounts removed and checked. The shaft alignment has been done (while boat is in the water). After consulting the Catalina Owner archives I don't recall finding much evidence that others have made a similar fix for this problem by installing a flexible coupling. I am wondering how many owners have had any luck solving a vibration problem in this way.

I allso put some sound proofing around the moter and It cut the noise in half I put fome under the draws and in sink cabenit then put a piece to block off the engine from the seat area.the fome is not fire pfoof and will meltso I did not use it close to the moter .Iwill get some fire proof fome from W/M for around the moter The only problem Im haveing is if motering for along time the seet is geting real hot and I need to run the exost blower to keep it cool I cant beeeeeeeeelive catalina sent these boats out without anty sound proofing. Now I can here my self think If I go below.
