So, Holy Cow, problem solved! The FedEx guy just delivered three more fire extinguishers! I only had three, and supposedly, after trying online and finding only one accepted, then calling and raising that number to three, I now have all five of mine replaced. I've received three 5 lb. commercial ABC units (466112, red), one Mariner 110 ABC 2.5 lb. (white) and one "Kitchen" BC 2.5 lb. (white). That's all five of my old Kidde units on hand.
It might have been my multiple attempts at applying for replacements, who knows! In any event, it's fortuitous, and superb customer service.
Now I feel bad about buying new ones for the boat that are Buckeye, not Kidde. The Buckeye units are rated the same, by UL rating: 3A, 40 B:C; and rechargeable, tagged. The one 2.5 lb. unit came with a vehicle bracket. They were about the the same price as Kidde, but seem to be of higher "build quality."
If anyone's interested in the Buckeye units I'll post more, let me know.
