The Admiral and I are planning our first out-of-the-river excursion. We are planning to sail over to Fairlee Creek on the Md. Eastern Shore,Leave Md. Marina around noon, stay Sunday night only. I am aware that weekends are crowded, but we have never been there, want to see it, not much chance of missing the Eastern Shore if I head east, favorable south winds next 2 days. I have heard that a shuttle dinghy will bring you in to the restaurant (or marina) if contacted on the radio. Is this true?, If not ,do we have a prayer of any pier space for dinner/late lunch.? Not much room on P18 for a dink or kayak.... Any other advice? We will have earplugs, bugscreen, proper pillows, learned last summer the hard way :).Dave

Do not know about a water taxi have been there do not recall seeing one they do have a golf cart service once you make it to land go at high tide if you draft over 4 ft it is tight in the channel but fine once inside

the entrance approach to FC is an interesting mini adventure in of itself. It's not likely to be a prob for your Pr18 though. look it up on ActiveCaptian.com There is a really nice anchorage across from Great Oaks Marina. JellyFishJoe's (the beach) is like going to the "islands, Mon" :D Power boaters with the big $ go fast boats really crowd the place on weekends. Friday and Saturday nights are "hot" and the hot girls and guys show up in record numbers. The marina is nice..there's a playground for the kids, lots of big sailboats, lots of slips, And the restaurant has really really good food, we loved the burgers.

Thanks all for comments. It is Now Monday afternoon, we are home in the AC. Went over yesterday afternoon, great sail over. About 3 hrs as expected. The party hardy beach is quite the spectacle, saw one "go fast" briefly get sideways in the cut in extreme current. After a few hours ashore, cooling off dinner in the restaurant, we went up into the creek and anchored alone in the quiet. By now, it`s cooling off and we enjoyed our first sunset cocktails in the cockpit of our boat together. While enjoying the view and calm , a large bird (Osprey?) dove and plucked dinner out of the river 100' off the stern.
Coming home to Md. Marina today was all motor and very hot, but we had a great time overall.
