Nasty but worth it
Jim, My wife and I completely rebuilt the interior of our 25 and the nastiest part of the whole job was the liner. O'day used the "goo from hell" to attach the original liner and removing that adhesive is the hard part. Acetone, spirits, naptha, you name it , had no effect on this stuff at all. I finally got it of with a circular wire brush attached to my grinder. Be sure to remove everything from the cabin and then cover up whatever is still left with freezer paper or drop cloths, this is one messy job. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to the hull as the wire brush will dig into the roving if you stay in one spot too long. Once we got it clean we applied 1/4" foam to the hull and then vinyl over the foam. Both these items were obtained at a fabric shop at a resonable price compared to the marine version. We used 3M headliner spray adhesive for the attachment. Be sure that you fit everything first and be prepared to take whoever helps you out to a very nice dinner. It was a lot of work but it was the one most important part of the rebuild. The occasional mildew wipes right off and periodically (once a year or so) we have to do some touch up reattachment. It was a big job but definaly worth it. Good Luck, PM
