Where did you get that image Jon... The brunette laying down looks a little like Jackie Kennedy. But on a Buccaneer? no.

The CAL40 is a beautiful racer.
Followed the refitting of S/V Sequoia by the Fred Cook, of Schaefer Marine.

It goes to show how little energy (drive force-Latteral resistance) it takes to drive a boat. Three knots of wind, :wow3:

The 22m² a beautiful and fast boat in her day.
She looks like a boat that is assured of giving her crew a splash for their efforts.
In looking at this boat's history and it's once active Chicago community of sailors I was struck by the following quote...
“The goal is not to sail the boat, but rather to help the boat sail herself.” – John Rousmaniere

May we all enjoy such an opportunity.

Jon.... Where are the boats? Buried in the ice? Looks like a bunch of poles, and Dacron kites lashed together.

first you serve some hot buttered rum .........
those are A boats. hudson river used to be one of their playgrounds. there is one in a garage a block from my house in sturge. in a blow they would get extra crew to sit on cross plank to try and hold it down. more hot buttered rum ........ stern steer, 5 or 6 in the cockpit. when they spin out doing 70 it can get ugly. more hot buttered rum ........... as the speed increases the control wanes :)
