I was wondering if anyone has added an extension to the engine exhaust on the stern to keep the transom cleaner from swirling exhaust
I think someone tried that and decided it was too much back pressure for such a small engine? What about generators? I was thinking that people with generators could put extensions on the exhaust and discharge under water. This might keep the noise down when they run their gensets all night at anchor.
Do you think that will work?

I'm experimenting with an extension for my honda 2000. Tapped the exhaust port and screwed in a short brass nipple, added on a bushing and then a piece of flexable 1" aluminum conduit. Carries the exhaust away from the boat and muffles the sound a bit. Gets HOT. I did not run this under the water, just out the back of the transom over the pushpit.
