"Have you had your 12 servings of corn today?" The ethanol push is from the same folks who had no qualms about helping to poison an entire generation of Americans.

Flipping channels today, saw a politician from Iowa in a hearing telling the EPA chief what a great idea E15 is and how good it is for the country and security. SMH....

Boat US is tilting at windmills on this one as far as a roll-back. I think they know it. The mid-America swing vote is too valuable and it is for sale. However, holding the line is plausible.

More achievable would be to press NMMA and ASTM for a standard on gasoline additives for e-10. In the current market, some are pure snake oil, some make things worse, and some are VERY effective. But you can't tell which from the label. This is a place Boat US could bring value. Press them to press NMMA. The ASTM is ready to go and has a draft standard on-deck, just no support to move it forward. In all likelihood, the resistance is coming from a few key advertisers. PUSH!

Based on thinwater’s eval in PS biobor EB and Seafoam. The seafoam seems to remedy existing jet clogging. Have to store the fuel in a sealable tank.

I use Stabil and Seafoam and ethanol free gasoline in the small engines.. I store about 15 gallons for hurricane/generator use for up to a year and don't have any problems any more.. Seafoam did clear an existing clog in my edger after about a year.. or maybe it was a coincidence..

I prefer diesel in all motors I run... Hard to get that in an outboard though.. I do use a small outboard that runs gasoline. Wish I knew where I could get one that ran on diesel. While not as readily available, gen sets can be found that run diesel engines - seems to be more common in Europe. I used to have a small gen set there that ran a small single cylinder diesel.

I've had 100% success without the use of any additives, in non-ethanol gas stored up to one year. If the storage is likely to be longer than a year, I'll add StaBil.

I have no use at all for Sea Foam, since I never have any problems for it to prevent or cure in the first place.

There seems to be a misconception that Stabil is for storage and other additives are for problems. This is not true. ALL of the testing related to storage, and Stabil was NOT at the top of the pack. They just spend more on advertising. Or they just like watching lawn mower races.

Thanks for the info.
