I love seeing older boats being upgraded and restored. We have access to so much info and great quality equipment now-a-days. I think some of these older boats are better than ever. I think the P30 put Pearson on the map. That boat was considered a really good little boat. Nice to see the upgrades.

I wish I could say I am done, but still a long way to go to accomplish what I want, I am still trying to find a way to completely hide the wires, I am always afraid the grandkids might accidentally grab/rip out a wire.

Wire hiding is a challenge. Especially when you try to minimize the voltage drop on the wires. I am still in a quandary about some of the wires on my boat. I am looking to modify the lighting. I am afraid I will have to take down the ceiling of the salon to accomplish the new wiring. Then project creep begins. The ceiling cover is dated. I want to insulate the ceiling and build a new cover.

I was thinking about making a simple box panel that goes under the “ceiling” under the electrical panel, simple ¼” plywood and a cleat on all 3 sides
Ha! Project creep aboard has been the single largest financial expense in my life. There are some projects that desperately need to be done, but i will absolutely not touch them until I have an extra 5k of disposable income ready to be spent.
I was going to do something similar when i install my solar panels. The wiring will need to run along the teak walls, so i was going to buy a thick piece of teak plank, maybe 3/4" thickness. Route out a channel/groove large enough to accept all the wiring. Finish the outside of it and install it over the wires so it lookes like a piece of decorative trim.

I was faced with running my cables from the mast to the electrical panel.
The original wires were somewhere in the compression post. Simple access to the wires was impossible. As they were already 45 years old, I was running new cables. I also wanted a way to disconnect the wires in the boat, should future mast removal be needed. (I prayed not in my lifetime.)
Here is the wire routing, and the chase I had made to hide them.

You should do this no matter - and use a marine grade that is fire retardant. Just a FYI, it's not cheap as far as looms go...
