Seems like I've been asking alot of questions of this forum lately. Either I'm inept or my boat is falling apart! I have a 1986 Cat 30 w/the Universal 25/21 Hp. motor. I thought I had the wrong prop on it since the best I ever saw was 2000 RPM and about 6 knots. I think either the prop is fouled not or my original proplem is getting worse as I'm down to 1700 RPM and 4.5 Knots (if the wind is calm) Some one suggested that in neutral I should be able to max out on the govenor at about 3000 RPM-All I could get is 2500 RPM. The motor seems to run good and there is no smoke save a trace of white to gray stuff. The speed lever moves through the full range but once the motor reaches 1700 RPM (in gear) I can continue to move the lever another 2 inches but nothing happens. The fact that their is no black smoke leads me to believe that I'm not getting enough fuel. New filters and line have no effect. The electric fuel pump is original so that is my next suspect. Anyone know of a replacement that I can get at Auto Zone or NAPA to avoid paying thru the nose? Thanks in advanceTim
