I have a recently bought a 94' Hunter 26. I have a question about the electrical panel on the boat. The last switch on the panel says ACC. What does that switch do? The boat came with two batteries but one has a shorted cell so I need to replace it. Can anyone recommend a battery? Should I get a class 27 (?) or gel cell. I would also like to add a volt/amp meter, there is a four-outlet box cut into the bulkhead and wired to the 110V shore power (I don’t think I will need.) next to the house panel. This weekend I was looking at the wiring and was appalled at the hatchet job in the back up the boat. The previous owner had wired the second battery to only two DC connections, one for a Loran (which I won’t use, I’m a lake sailor, I guess) and the other for an old Magellan GPS (I can’t get to work). The motor a Honda 8hp Four Stroke has a charge output that was connected to only the main battery. Should I add a combiner or switch to switch between batteries. I was also looking on the Internet at the Siemens RV Solar Power kits (50, 75, 100 watt kits), does anybody have any knowledge on setting up solar on a H26. I would like to keep the batteries charged while the boat is bobbing around on the lake this summer. It will be on a buoy and not at a slip, so it will be moving around a far amount and I need to take that into consideration. Thanks,Carl BaderS/V Wind Shadow
