Dropping a C34 rudder

I need to re-form my upper and lower rudder bearings. I have researched the proper repair and am confident in doing the job myself. I have never taken the rudder off of our 1987 C34 and before I do I just want to ask those who have if there is anything to look out for and what is the proper sequence to follow? Thanks for the help! Kyle

tourched them off

I have a C 30 and took my rudder off to dry it and re glass.But the bolts where stuck on but good.I used a 6 POINT socket 1/2" drive, tourch and two cans of WD40 but the bolts just snaped.Idrilled the RAD arm to remove the old bolts and then ran new bolts with lock nuts thru the arm .All the guys i talked to said they snaped the bolts or cut them off. John
