Hi
I'm back with another newbie question.
The Albin Vega has a drain hole at the bottom of the keel. Although I've owned the boat for about 18 months now I've not tried to open this yet. As my boat is now in the boat yard for the winter I was thinking it might be a good idea to open it. Should I? Is there any advice you'd give (apart from remembering to close it again before putting the boat back in the water!)?
Questions that cross my mind are Do these plugs tend to unscrew fairly easily? How easy are they to put back? When putting them back do you put anything round the threads to ensure the seal is water tight? Do folks leave these open all winter and if so have they had any problems with small creatures making a home in their boat?
Thanks
Mark
