I'm considering an older Catallina 27 that's out of state and in the water. The broker's specs indicate a draft of 4'8", but other specs show that model to draw only 4'. Were there deeper draft 27s produced in the early 70s???

Try the C27 forum: www.catalina27.org If that does not work, try Catalina: 818-884-7700.

Careful!!!!

Despite what all the brochures say, the draft of a Catalina 27 is actually 4 ft 6 inches. At my previous marina all the boats had to be trailerable, no local storage facilities and several feet of ice on the lake for six months of the year make trailering mandatory. Designing and building a trailer for a C27 is a good way to become familiar with the exact measurements. Also, to settle a local disagreement we measured all the C27's here and several on the hard out at the coast, all were exactly 4ft 6in.

Mine is 4.0 feet

I measured the draft of my 1974 Catalina 27 today at the boat yard with a stick and a level at the base of the keel. It is 4.0 feet exactly, from the bottom of the water line to the bottom of the keel. .
