Can anyone recommend where to get a dodger made for my Beneteau 393? I need the whole thing. Thanks!

Depends on where you are located. Most of us depend on local craftsmen for that type of work.

Where are you? Lots of dodgers on the 393 site. I got mine in Charleston.

Went to http://www.thestainlesshop.ca/ to have the frame made.

Got the fabric and hardware from JT Top shop http://www.jtstopshop.ca/

Sew the material myself on a household machine.

There are local craftpeople to do this for a living. I just like to tinker with stuff myself. Saved a few thousand bucks for a bimini and dodger ;-). I plan to fully enclosed the cockpit later.

I found a local guy to do my dodger and could not be any happier with the results. He worked with me on what I wanted from side curtains to the removal of the front window. He sat on the boat with me several times and we discussed what he felt would work and what I wanted. I wanted hand holds on the sides and on the aft end of the frame. He built it so strong I can literally hang from the hand hold at the aft end. The longer I have this dodger the better I am glad I got it.

Talk to people around your marina, look over their dodgers. This is worth researching and thinking through. I have seen a lot of dodgers that leave a lot to be desired. There are dodgers and then there are dodgers. A really good one does not cost much more, but can really add a lot to safety and ease of use.

Consider a wavestopper hard vs. canvas tsoft op dodger. The attached photo is an example of a hard top dodger. Consider Macrolon 60 g rigid marine polycarbonate, which is on this boat, or 40 g Lexan windows. Also consider velveteen-lined window covers to mitigate scratching the windows. From the dodger hand rail I attached a bimini to the arch to provide a complete cockpit bimini.

Steve: The only problem with the WaveStopper is the cost. When I priced one out for my HV'36 it was about $8k.
