I found a local guy to do my dodger and could not be any happier with the results. He worked with me on what I wanted from side curtains to the removal of the front window. He sat on the boat with me several times and we discussed what he felt would work and what I wanted. I wanted hand holds on the sides and on the aft end of the frame. He built it so strong I can literally hang from the hand hold at the aft end. The longer I have this dodger the better I am glad I got it.
Talk to people around your marina, look over their dodgers. This is worth researching and thinking through. I have seen a lot of dodgers that leave a lot to be desired. There are dodgers and then there are dodgers. A really good one does not cost much more, but can really add a lot to safety and ease of use.
