O'Day Mariner 19 Littleton, NH
I’m looking into something in the 16 to 19’ range for weekening
If you go with the Mariner, we could be members of the MCA together. Remember that idea I had a while back about a series of established sails to complete for a badge of honor? I've started it on the MCA web site. Members can login and post their sailing trips of greater than 20 nautical miles and when I collect 20 of such trips for a region, I'll post the list as qualifiers for the achievement.
[Edit: "post" not "pay", "post the list of qualifiers". I have nothing to pay a list of qualifiers with:facepalm:].

Catalina 350 Port Huron
Concerning the previous comment about affordability, I don't think that's necessarily it at all. I think it's more about transportability. We always kept our Seaward 25 in a slip in our normal sailing grounds but took it lots of other places as well. The fact that we could trailer it allowed us (especially when we had jobs) to sail places we would never have had the time to sail to.

Sure, it's not as comfortable and as safe in rough weather as our Catalina 350, but for those distant trips it was more capable. Now that we're retired and spend all summer cruising on the bigger boat we don't use the Seaward much. It's a hard thing to think about selling though, because there's always that next trip we're thinking of taking it on.

CAL 35 Cruiser #21 moored EVERETT WA
thought I’d take a tangent and list the pocket cruisers boats I’ve had.
Gosh..:yikes:
They say boats are considered females.
That I think might make you a serial monogamous.

I hear that. I love a good project. My grandson and I are sorting out our 18’ go fast trailer Queen. The 500hp engine has taken the toll on the Speedmaster II which is cracked welded worn on the rear bearing. This winters project is to find one and toss our gears and clutch in. Last year we added a raspberry pi on the cruiser for security and monitoring.
