When I opened up the boat this year I found a small amount of diesel in the pan below the engine. I have checked my fuel line and all parts of the engine and can't find anything. Anybody have any ideas. Thanks

I have that problem on occasion as well, I'm pretty sure where mine comes from. Do the TP test. Take a piece of tissue or even just your dry fingers and touch every banjo fitting in the fuel path from lift pump to secondary filter to bleed screws to injectors. My bet is that you'll find several spots where the fuel is seeping.

Yes, suspect connections first as Clark and Mike have stated.. The banjos are a prime contributor (ohhhh! be careful not to strip/break them when tightening!) and also tighten the screws that hold the top cover on the lift pump case. Ya might as well buy new copper gaskets for the banjos before ya start tightening.. just replace them !

The banjo washers are really NOT reusable. Once you crush them you should replace them with R/R and fuel lines. The secondardy engine filter is also a point to check for links.

Baby powder is a good thing to sprinkle on potential leak points to check for any seepage.

Steve, they can be reused in a pinch IF they are carefully lapped back to flat on both sides before re-installation. Lay some 400 grit paper on a countertop and put a finger on top of the washer. With light pressure, move the gasket over the paper in 1" diameter circles while making a bigger circle about 6" in diameter. When the whole flat is shiny (meaning it is now flat), flip it over and do the other side. I re-emphasize..IN A PINCH. (yes I know they will work harden a little and this will only work about 3 times on the same washer) There are some soft copper automotive oil drain washers too that will work here.. Then, next time you see the Yanmar Man, get some of the new ones with the rubber inserts and be done with them.
