I would like to ask for some advise and help. I have a 84 Catalina 30 with a diesel engine...the M25... Just bought it about a month ago and have finally got it to start and run. It was in a slip and not cared for. Had not been running for over a year. When I start it now, after about 30-45 minutes, the temp gauge willgo up to a tad over 200 degrees before I cut the engine off. I have read the operating range is 175-190 degrees. I have checked the thru hull and am getting water there. I have changed the water filters. I havent looked personally, but the previous owner told me that there is no thermostat. Any suggestions as to what is causing this and how can I correct it? The only thing I can think of left to do is check the screen over the thru hull under the boat. Maybe it is just restricting the amount of water. If that is the case, how can I correct that this time of year? The water is too cold for me to get in...
Any suggestions would be appreciated..
ThanksGary
