I’m surprised I have not come across a manual regarding the rigging on my boat. I am a newbie sailor and I need to see the basic layout of what goes to what. Anyone?

Rigging details are found starting on page 79 of the attached manual.
Page 27 - 30 - getting ready to sail
Page 31 - reefing
Page 79 - sail plan
Page 82 - deck hardware location
Page 85 - spinnaker layout

Anything specific you would like to know?

I've looked at the manual. I probably need to find someone at the marina to go over all the lines with me. In addition, a slip neighbor who is a Hunter 30 owner said to take the mainsail foot out of the track. Yes? No?

Good plan to find someone at the marina to go over the operation of all the lines. Once you get instruction on the purpose of each line you will quickly be off sailing. Are you referring to removing the mainsail foot out of the track resulting in a loose foot? You can read more about the advantages and disadvantages in this link Loose Foot vs. Attached Mainsail (fxsails.com) You can do a search on this forum to find threads like these discussing the benefits of a loose footed mainsail Mainsail, Loose / Fixed foot? | Sailboat Owners Forums and Loose footed mainsail? | Sailboat Owners Forums

Great article! Thanks.. The clew needs some redoing so we were concerned with relying on it. Once we get it sorted out we will take the foot out of the track and see how it goes!

I don’t think just taking the foot out of the track makes it a loose-footed main. Seems like a lot of loose material just flopping around.

Loose footed mains are reinforced appropriately to take the stress. If yours has the bolt rope to slide into the boom, best keep it that way.
A knowledgeable sailor can help you sort out your rigging. Someone may have altered the OEM config for singlehanding or other improvements

A friend had his sail modified as a loose footed sail and had the increased load do some damage to the sail. The sail maker who did the work fixed it and added more reinforcements. The point is don’t just leave the bolt rope out of its slot.

Extremely helpful comment! I always assume that if something is constructed a certain way that's the way it should be used or there could be damage...
