Typical of the media

Seems the media is hyping this up as usual. There is some local flooding, but nothing unusual.
Lots of rain, but not much in the way of really high winds. Have seen the water higher than this on several occasions. From what I was seeing before I left Dallas, expected things to be much worse. As I said, the tarp over boat was still intact.

N & E,
I would have been happy to check on your boat for you. If necessary in the future, feel free to PM me. I'm about to take ride to make sure my dock lines are loose enough.

A bit late for any new storms with that name, Ross...they're named alphabetically and we're already in the Ls with Lee. But Katia is still out there...
Camile dumped about 20 inches of rain in theJames river basin when she came up this way.

Thank you

Forest, thanks for the offer. Had a couple of other offers, buy my situation is somewhat different then most. Am on a canal in Eden Isles, and when we get a large surge, I have to anchor the boat to keep it off the dock. Unless I was virtually helpless, I wouldn't ask that of anyone, particularly when it's already blowing and raining.
But I must say, there is noplace where you find the quality of people you find on sail boats. Willing to go out of their way to help, even when it's someone they have never met. Again, thank you for the offer.

Water was up a little higher than I had thought. Looks like maybe a foot or so over the docks. My lines were holding but are either stretched pretty good, which doesn't seem to be the case since it isn't listing over any. I am concerned about the Mac next to me. The dock lines are in very poor shape. I suspect the marina personnel may have loosened my dock lines a bit. I had spring lines set up loose enough to keep from banging the dock on either side, but now the water is 4 -5 feet higher and I'm in a narrow slip. I took a couple of photos, I was going t attach one of the angry waves in the lake, but they didn't come out so well from my phone. Waves were about 4-5 feet.

The wind has swung around to the north /northwest now and the water should start to go down.I'll try to check in on it later today as the water recedes.
