How easy is it to install? Do you have to release the prop shaft from the packing nut to get clearance for it to fit in?
Thnx,

This is what I was hoping to find out. I going to look at this more closely this weekend.

I received the damper plate OEM part# 1866 050 002. Here is where it is made, cost $87US http://www.auto-pilot.cz/spojkova-lamela-sachs/pro-1999705.html I paid $125 + shipping from http://federalmarinetransmissions.com/99901.html their part # was 330-631-6001
This thing is only 4.75" in diameter. There is very little preload on the springs (I can spring them with my fingers) so I can see that with very little wear on the spring contact surfaces the springs will start to rattle. Also there doesn’t appear to be anything to prevent the springs from falling out the front! This thing is wimpy!

Upon further inspection the diameter of the spring is actually greater than the front and rear slot opening. This should keep the spring in place, but any wear will get the springs rattling.
