Cruising Range

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the cruising range of a Catalina 30 fitted with an Atomic 4 engine. The tank is 20 gallons. Does anyone know the distance one should expect out of a tank of fuel with this engine? I know that factors like wind, current, waves, etc all affect the range, but even a ball park number would be helpfull. Would going to a diesel significantly increase cruising range under power? Thanks for any help and advice. Rob

This is what I found

Here's a quote from Paceship: The A4 consumes approximately ¾ of a gal of fuel per hour at about 1/3 throttle and pushes the P29 along at 5-5.5 kts. here's the site: http://www.paceship.org/boats/P29/index.asp
