How accurate are "Cove Stripes", when trying to identify the make of a boat?I found a used boat for sale, a 37' yawl, advertised as a Grampian "Walthrop".Not only have I been unable to find ANY mention of a "Walthrop", but I've been told that Gramps don't come in a 37' size.According to its USCG regi, hull #295228 was manufactured in Oakdale, Canada in 1964, and grosses 9 tons. That's it.So...(here comes the point, bear with me) Today I was surfing G.O.B.'s website, and saw their page on "cove stripes". The bow shot of the head of the stripe (they don't show a tail) for a Grampian didn't look ANYTHING like mine, so I scrolled down until I reached "S". The head and tail of a "Swan" look exactly like mine, but Swans are HUGE, and weren't made until '66.Can anyone tell me how to find some info on this boat?
