Could Winter be over?

Let's hope so. For Central NY it has been a relatively mild winter. This week was the first cold snap with temps in the single digits for one day. Snowblower has only been out of the garage twice so far.

Let the spring floods begin.

Pretty much the same story here, (1) major snow in Nov and (1) in Jan, other than that I have to wonder before this week if there was even frost in the ground. Would love to get on early start on the preparation, I dropped the mast in the fall and want to dismantle, clean and lubricate the Selden inmast furling system, add new spreader and mast head lights and possibly a track, car and up haul for a spinnaker/whisker pole.

Spring floods? that has been going on all winter on Huron and Michigan, many home owners are worried or have already lost the battle.

It's a roller coaster here. We had a record high a week ago. Now we're having the coldest temp this winter!

I've hardly touched a snow shovel this winter. Despite this being the warmest Jan ever recorded globally, I think we were even warmer in Jan 2016 on the coast. But the lack of snow here has been the most noticeable this winter.

Still, we can get our biggest snowfalls in March and April (especially April).

What’s that saying about a lady singing? ;)

Interesting graphics on GL ice coverage. I’m hoping the open water will allow more of the excess water to evaporate!!

That's fast! I mailed mine last Monday. We'll see if it comes back this week. They did charge my CC on Friday. Went with a 5 year renewal, won't have to deal with fee increases or renewing again for many years.

Up here in NH we don't rely on a ground hog or a date on the calendar to let us know when winters over. We use a more scientific method commonly referred to as "The Cordwood Indicator"

When your pile goes from this to this, winter's just about over

After several days being cooped up in the house the cabin fever finally got to me and we drove up to our preferred sailing lake yesterday. it's at about 5,000 ft elevation however, so nope..... not quite sailboat ready at this point :banghead:
