Has anybody had any experience with the Costco 6V Golf Car batteries? They seem really inexpensive ($61), but hows the quality and performance? Thanks. Bob
I considered them few months ago, but found the amps were farily low compared to what I could get a local batter supplier. Don't remember the details, but for my needs the cost/benefit wasn't there when I did the calculations.
it might be good to know what the mfg is as Costco doesn't make them. If you can find out or someone else knows, it's a simple matter to discern their quality/rating etc.
Did you have a problem locating a battery box tall enough for them? Any clearance problems you had to solve at the battery location? I'm seriously considering replacing my house battery with a pair of 6V golf.
Buying a battery based on the dollars per AH, is a big mistake. HEll, I've got a couple of old ones around here, I'll sell you for much less per AH. A battery that costs a buck more per AH and lasts three times as long is more of a bargain than the cheaper battery.
Everyone knows that any item that says marine is overpriced and folks that pay for name brands (like TROJAN) get what they pay for, a fancy name sticker. I have had excellent service from 6v batteries from SAMS Club (Our local COSTCO didn't carry them in stock in New England)
