I have the Perkins engine in my 320 and haven't found any anodes either. The paperwork I have on the engine don't show any and someone, somewhere told me that there aren't any.If there are I hope you (we) get a reply soon. Not much help am I?
In response to R.G. Miller note re no zinc anodes on his Perkins engine. I am a dealer for Catalina and while at a boatshow here in Vancouver I talked to a Perkins rep about the engine in question.Perkins built the raw water cooling system with rubber bellows at both ends. This was to prevent metal contact between the raw side and fresh sides. This allows them not to need zinc anodes. This was the answer given to me and so far I am not aware of any problems with this system. Also one must note that there have been 3 different engines in the Catalina 320. First was the Perkins then the Westerbeke and now the Yanmar. The Perkins was a great engine but supply was a problem and Catalina had to change...same problem with the Westerbeke. The new boats have the Yanmar 3GM30F which is a 27 HP compared with the Perkins 29 HP.regardsRichard Hargreaves
