AT 5 a.m. Thursday, I was nearing Sabine Pass from Galveston when I got hit on the nose with 30 kts of wind. I turned tail, under gib alone, and sailed the 30 miles back to Galveston Bay doing as much as 9.5 kts. in 12 foot seas. Then dropped the hook in the mud near the east acces to the ICW for a night of rocking and rolling in The Bay. During gthe night in the rough anchorage my compression post made a lot of noise like I had not heard ever before. What's up? Anyone have the same problem. Jim McClung, S/ V Drum
