I put a little stainless folding step on the transom mounted at the top of the boot top maybe a foot from the edge of the transom. I can easily get out of the water by grabbing the deck edge and putting my foot on the step. Nice safety feature, and handy. I tell my wife it's our swim platform.Nicholas Walsh

Subject: [AlbinVega] swim platform..
Hi all,
One of the things on my list is a swim platform and a step on the back of my Vega. This would help in deploying and getting in/out of a dingy, as well as getting people into the boat from the water. Pets might like it too..
Anyway, after one of the recent posts here on the vega list, the one about the outboard engine getting ripped off of the transom? I have been wondering about the swim platform.
So my question is..
In big water, how would a swim platform do? Would it affect seaworthyness? Get ripped off the back with a big wave?
Thanks,
roy
