I am interested in buying a used C28. I noticed that the seat backs in the cockpit seats are not very high in the C28 MKII. They look like they do not give a lot of support and will not be very comfortable. I guess Catalina lowered the seat backs in order to give more room below in the rear berth. My questions are is: 1. How comfortable is the lower seat back in the MkII compared with the the C-28? 2. Do any MkII owners find the lower seats to be uncomfortable? As always, your advice is appreciated.

Keep in mind . . .

you'll spend much of you time "behind the wheel" while sailing! Back in the back you have the lifelines/pushpit rails to lean against. Also, I tend to sit up on the coamings in the back corners (much better view of sail shape, etc.) while sailing (I single-handed mostly). As for relaxing at anchor or in the slip, my origional 28 has been fine as far as cockpit comfort. Actually, since I dock "stearn-first, I often enjoy that nightcap out front at the bow to better enjoy the sunset views. None of the guests I've had aboard have ever complained either. Let me hear from you if you have any otehr questions. Steve s/v Jabberwocky
