Have only had my '87 h23 since April, I've just been tying my companionway hatch in the open position when we are at anchor. Is there a piece are part that I'm missing that is supposed to hold it in the open position? Thanks

No

You will eityher have to tie it up or make a leg system for that for the hatch to remain up. crazy dave condon

PVC Pipe Legs

We made some legs out of PVC pipe, 3/4 I think. The inside diameter is just large enough so the bumpers on the cabin top fit inside the pipe. We cut two sets, one about 7 inches just to get the top up, even while sailing and the other longer, so the top is up against the boom - not while sailing. The other end fits nicely at the aft end of the wide part of the channel on the cabin top itself. Measure what you think you need for the height you want. Figure in angles on both top and bottom so they sit flush against the pop top and the channel. Bill Bowman H23 - Joint Venture Muskegon, Michigan
