Beware the Blister
Hi Paul:You just missed a series of messages about blisters and blister repair wherein some comments were made about boats made in the mid 80's. If memory serves, Catalina boats made during this period seem to be a little prone to blisters and perhaps it was an industry-wide problem. Some people will tell you it had to do with the oil embargo and the quality of resins. I don't know. You might want to search the archives using blisters as the key word - the messages I refer to will be there.Otherwise, Catalina seems to be a good boat and if you're not planning on taking too many people aboard, like maybe 4 people besides yourself, 27 is an O.K. length. However, before you buy a 27, look at a 30. I hear the difference is considerable.Good LuckMelody.
