I was curious if anybody has gutted their interior and started fresh. Did you separate the upper and lower halves to allow more room? Any pics, links or ideas welcome.

I've had conversations with Compac owners who didn't and some that have.
If you can find the official Compac Owners Group, there are lots and lots of pictures of refits, including gutting and rebuilding. I don't have the link on this computer, but if you Google Compac owners group, you'll find it.
When I upgraded my interior, I didn't lift the deck, but it would have been easier if I had.I had to split the seam anyway to re caulk it.
