Does anybody have information about costal navigation instuments, depth finder and knott meter? These are currently installed on my '87 Cat. The knot meter is not working and DP is very hard to read at night. Before I replace with another brand, I'd like to see if costal navigation is an option. Thanks, any information would be helpful.

...is probably your least expensive option of integrated instruments, GPS, and plotter (I think that's what you're asking about). B&G makes a nice system, as do others, but for more bucks. West Marine in Seattle on Mercer St. should be able to fix you up.

I have not seen that brand advertised for a long long time. Call your local marine supplier to see if they have a contact telephone number, or address. Otherwise you could just put in another brand. My boat has Autohelm, and I am happy with them, but they are not without problems. Michael

I had the same instruments on my C-30. Coastal Navigation was a local company. They were located in NE Seattle. I took my depth sounder in for repairs at their shop, but I think they are out of business now. Don "Descente"

i just shucked my instruments on my 87 30. i replaced them with the raytheon st60. you can get a good deal at sailnet.com i saved alot because of not having to pay taxes and their price was less then west marine even with the employees discount. very happy with the change. i also replace the pedestal guard with the stepped back one and installed them in the navpod case. upgrades a boat very nice.
