Hello again,During our exploration of bays and harbors along the foggy Maine coast in our 336, over a two week period, 6 times the water intake became clogged with kelp and other stuff. This has occurred only twice over the previous 3 years. I learned to be more careful and try to go around large kelp beds but this wasn't always possible and sometimes it was not a bed but a random clump that was sucked up. The clog occurs between the intake and the through hull. The Zodiac pump has become almost the most important piece of equipment on the boat. A few other times, the clog occurred in the hose between the through hull and strainer. And the strainer itself was checked and cleaned multiple times/day.I am wondering if there is such a thing as an external screen to put over the intake. Maybe a cone shaped screen device to block the stuff and maybe cause it to slide off and away. Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the heavier floatsum out of the intake?thank you,Bob Pilgrim
