Our cockpit cushions got brown due to dust over time. What is the best way to clean them?

Any ideas?

Thanks so much!

Mine are covers over foam and I have just power-washed them on a low pressure setting. I have done it both ways- foam in or out.

If they are covered with sunbrella, take covers off, wash in cold water washing machine gentle cycle and air dry. Ours came out looking like new. I also Scotchguarded them after they were dry.

The cushions have a foam inside on my Hunter 45CC. The covers are not sunbrella but look like a grid.

We scrubbed ours with Crudcutter and they came out great

I suspect your cushion fabric is Marine grade Vinyl Textilene or Phifertex Sunsure. I have Phifertex Sunsure on my boat and clean it with West Marine citric deck cleaner, when required, while I am cleaning the cockpit. I will look into Crudcutter as an alternative.

We tried Curd cutter - works well. Need one bottle for one cushion!

Thanks to all!

Try Seabrite Inflatable boat cleaner - really a vinyl cleaner- and a green scotchbrite pad.

I tried a green scotchbrite pad with mild soap. It left a green streak. The boat vinyl cleaner I tried left them dirty, slippery, and oily feeling.

I just starting using Clorox's new all purpose spray cleaner. Sprayed it on, scrubbed with a soft brush, and hosed it off. You could see the dirt wash away. Left them a bright white, like new.
