Paul
What model cheek block did you use?
Any detail pics?
What did you use for backing plates?
Catalina dropped the ball in this area. Their solution for the port jib sheet was an extra fairlead at the back of the track.... sucks as a solution
I would appreciate ay help you can provide on this
Thanks
Peter
Someone had picture of the cheek blocks on the 309's which I have seen up close and they are really nice. Catalina did "screw the pooch" on the 310 on this. From what I recall, they were backed on this one boat with pieces of plywood.
I was wondering the same thing. At first I thought you were kidding But no, this is for real. Great idea, but not so secret anymore, don't worry I won't tell. I'm trying to think how you would otherwise access this area, guess pull the hot water heater.
I used RTV under cheek blocks for bedding only on the upper deck. Marine plywood 3/4" for backing blocks and 3M 5200 for attaching. Stainless steel nylock nuts, bolts and washers.
That is what I used........ and as always everyone should use the method and materials you feel most comfortable with.
Paul, how are these working out? Seems like the sheets are rubbing on the deck, and the leed to the winch is at a low angle. Could the blocks be raised?
