Checking the Trans. fluid on a 27

Can anyone tell me where the trans dipstick or plug is on the Atomic 4? I have a 1978 model and have looked all over and did not find it. Could it be hiding under the metal structure that routes the cables? By the way, thanks for the help with the bilge pump installation.

Direct Drive . . . ?

John, Unless you have a V drive or, some other kind of transmission (you didn't say what type of boat you have) then it's most likely a direct drive transmission. This how my Atomic 4 is set up in my '71 Catalina 27. The direct drive is oiled directly from the engine, and there is no "tranny" dipstick. Nick"Julia Bell"#86

Dipstick dilemma solved

Thanks for your help. I thought I was going bonkers while I looked and looked for the dipstick. That's one more job I won't need to do before launch! Thanks again
