They are probably covered up with paint.The strut is fairly easy to remove save for the bedding sealant. It will take two people - one on the inside to loosen the nuts and one on the outside with a screwdriver to keep the screws from turning.Access to the four nuts is easy under the aft cabin berth once the cushions are removed.If you remove the four machine screws then be sure to epoxy-seal the holes before puting everything back together in order to prevent water intrusion into the fiberglass hull.Hope this helps.
