I have an 1977 Oday 25, and have just added a reefing furler. I also repalced all the turnbuckles on the rest of the cabling. As to be expected, the unexpected happened, and I need to replace all the shrouds because the turnbuckles are a little shorter, and some of the cable had to be cut to be used in the new fittings- to make a long story short, in the process of this fiasco, there was too much tension on starboard side shroud when the mast was being lowered--- this caused a bend to be placed in the chain plate where the two turnbuckles attach to the deck. In order to error on the side of caution, I am considering replacing the part. I could probably bend it back- it is stainless steel- and it is bent about 20 degrees. My problem is that I have been looking online and through West Marine, SAilnet, Shaefer Marine, etc, and have not been able to find the the part or a similar part. It is the peice with two holes in it for the two turnbuckles to attach.Any ideas about where I can find this part? Also, once I get all the shrouds replaced, what about tensions? Any suggestions on how to approach that?Thanks-Paul
