I am looking into replacing the jam cleat, which secures the centerboard up-haul in the “up” position and would like to hear from others that may have done the same. My boat’s previous owner told me that, "... the centerboard up-haul falls out of the jam cleat all the time ...", so I have no real first-hand experience with this matter. If this proves to be the case with other owners, I am interested in suggestions concerning a more positive holding device (and also wonder why Hunter didn’t just use a standard cleat in the first place).
